The Few and Cursed is a creator-owned comic book series about people trying to survive a wicked world where most of the water was gone overnight in a mysterious apocalyptic event in 1840.

Howdy fellas!
I hope everyone has a pleasant and restful Fourth of July weekend, I know I did and after two Kickstarter campaigns running simultaneously God knows I needed a break. I did manage to sign pretty much all the comic books that are going out to Few and Cursed #5 backers though but that's always fun when you are not really up against a time-crunch.
I wanted to go over a couple of things with you guys.
DROPPED PLEDGES
As of right now we've got 31 backers that have not completed their pledges due to payment errors. I've already contacted them individually asking if they needed any help but as always we do get dropped pledges and the final numbers of the Kickstarter might change.
Thankfully we've gone well past the last Stretch Goal so I don't expect anything to change as far as content. I just wanted to remind backers to double-check their pledges to make sure all is well and your pledge is confirmed.
The latest web store went up online as soon as the Kickstarter ended and it offers a lot of the past variant issues and other collectibles like the cards and coins.
While most of the items have more than enough units in stock a couple of the limited variants are almost sold out and down to its' very last copies.
When you put in a pre-order you are not charged right away though if you want to do it right now.
In fact it will be a few months before you are charged so you are basically just reserving a copy for yourself until I'm ready to start fulfillment in January 2020. And while you are effectively putting in a second order instead of adding items to your pledge, when fulfillment starts I will be able to combine both your pledge and the pre-order in one package going out under the shipping fee you already paid at the moment of your pledge on Kickstarter.
My point is I want to make sure that you all have the same opportunity to go after the most sought-after items as anybody out there that may stumble on the web store. If you don't want to wait until the BackerKit Surveys come in for any of the items just click the link above.
PRODUCTION UPDATE
Fabiano has been hard at work on pages 1 through 20 already of the comic but seeing how we added more story pages to the book I will need to go back to writing and slow our pace a little bit. I don't expect it to delay the fulfillment though as I have set a pretty realistic delivery date already.
I also need to lock down two board game artists to work on the Variand Redhead character card which will feature brand new art on both sides. Since this happened on the last couple of days I just did not have time to plan for it.
I'm excited about it though because the artists I have in mind are absolutely fantastic!
Just so this update doesn't go without some eye-candy here's a WIP sneak peek at some new art for the board game and extras we unlocked over there:
Ray Chou is one of the best indie creators you'll find around Kickstarter. I'm a huge fan of his series Skies of Fire and just recently I also had the chance to check out Glow and it's just as awesome with a meticulous world-building as the former.
It's no surprise then that with a little over a week left to go Glow #3 is already fully funded with over 700+ backers. Ray has always been a TFAC supporter and a friend so I really hope you will go check out his latest work. From their own page: "Glow takes place in a world where magic catalyzed both industrial revolution and nuclear holocaust. Half a millennia ago, an ancient and powerful empire known as Nymera developed a means to channel and store magical energy into a sticky blue substance known as anima, storing them into massive Towers across the world. With the aid of the Towers, the Nymerans brought peace and paradise into the world. Until one day the Towers fell. The story of Glow takes place two hundred years after that cataclysmic event, and follows the story of those who remain."

$60K Stretch Goal UNLOCKED and Original Artworks for sale \o/

WE HAVE UNLOCKED EVERY SINGLE STRETCH GOAL!!
Kudos to all of you for this incredible feat! Never have I ever finished a Kickstarter unlocking everything I set out including extra Stretch Goals that popped in mid-campaign.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! This has surpassed even the wildest expectations and it's just beyond overwhelming.
We still have some time left on the clock and I appreciate every extra dollar coming in as I assume shipping will be a bit more pricey than expected and I hope to use the extra funds to cover the excess myself.
This extra game content card will also be available for sale as an add-on to backers from the Board Game. More info about it in an upcoming update, thanks!

I thought these would be gone by now considering the other three artworks all sold on Day 1 of the campaign. I'm giving the artists a hand in selling their originals so please know most of the dollars raised in their tiers ($600) will be passed on to them.

THROWS UP YOUR ARMS AND DANCE BECAUSE YOU ALL JUST ROCK!!!
This has been incredible, jaw-dropping, inspiring and overwhelming Kickstarter across the board. I literally ran out of Stretch Goals and that had never happened before \o/
But I guess there's a first time for everything =D
WHAT NOW?
Now I will take a much needed break from Kickstarter and hopefully get some rest over the long holiday weekend. My wife and I will be handling fulfillment for The Few and Cursed #5 but in our own pace and hopefully pressure-free.
Yeah, that's me, I take a break from one job while tackling another but I do it with genuine pleasure because I love what I do for a living and you are the people responsible for allowing me such joy.
Please take note over the next 1-2 weeks, the credit card attached to your Kickstarter account will be charged your pledge amount. If there is a problem, they will continue to retry for 1-2 weeks.
It's always best to address any payment problems directly with Kickstarter but I will go over the errored pledges next week and reach out to backers to see if there's anything I can do.

Come October The Few and Cursed will return to Kickstarter for an original graphic novel featuring a brand new character by the name of LaVerne.
The book will be pencilled and inked by Rui Silveira with colors by Teo Gonzales and written by yours truly.
I cannot wait to share what's in store for this character!

WOW!! WHAT A ROLLER-COASTER! WHAT A RIDE!!
You gang of cursed misfits! You did it, you really did it, this is just incredible, I kept telling backers yesterday I needed a breather but I guess there's no rest for the wicked, right?!
When I sent out the update yesterday announcing two extra Stretch Goals at $55K and $60K I never thought we would not just only unlock them but do it so quickly, that's just really mind-blowing...

Here's the official rundown of everything unlocked in the past 24hrs or so after blowing past the $50Ks, reaching 1.400 backers and hitting 4K Instagram followers.
Also, I went to work and locked down some of the new artists joining us so late in the game \o/
Brazilian artist André Meister joins us for the Silver Signature trading card #4. All four cards were unlocked during this Kickstarter so every backer pledging towards a physical package to be sent in the mail can expect all of them.
Previous cards unlocked in past Kickstarters like the Gold Signature Series, the Crows, Red Series and more will be available after the campaign ends when we send out the BackerKit Surveys.

Japanese artist Peach Momoko has done beautiful artwork for the upcoming Upper Deck Marvel Flair series and I just fell in love with it immediately. I've been wanting to do real metal collectible cards for a while now so this was definitely a match made in heaven.
I expect this to be one of the most beautiful cards in the series and I really don't think the Redhead could be in better hands.

I'm also stoked to confirm Issue #6 will now be a DOUBLE-ISSUE with a total of 48 full colored pages and at least 36 pages of story! I really wanted to be able to tell the ending to the Crows story without having to rush and I really have to thank all of you for making that happen =)
So there ya go, $55K Stretch Goal unlocked:
Backers from previous Kickstarters know this is among the coolest Stretch Goals we could have unlocked.
For this Kickstarter I chose to do something to celebrate Chronicles and how important it was for the creation of the board game. Three different artists will do single artworks of Chronicles characters and then one colorist will paint the full set for a unified look and feel.
I haven't locked down the artists yet but you can expect this to be as awesome as everything else we have done so far.
THE FINAL STRETCH GOAL IS LESS THAN $1.000 AWAY!
We are really close to unlocking the final Stretch Goal in the campaign - an extra collectible card that can also be used in the board game!
The card will be dual-sided and will allow players in the game to play as a Variant Redhead with different stats and abilities. Not a board gamer? Not a problem, this will look great along the other cards as well \o/
My idea is to print it like a collectible card with a full gloss finish and everything.
SHIPPING & HANDLING
There was some chatter about shipping fees and how everything we are unlocking is piling up resulting in larger and heavier packages and that is not wrong.
However, shipping is already included in every tier and there won't be any extra fees anywhere ever. To guarantee that, I will be fronting some of the shipping across the board and to do so it's best to reserve some funds for it.
That's why the $60K Stretch Goal will be our FINAL ONE. Whatever we raise past that will be used as buffer for the extra shipping.

HOLY SMOKES!!!! $52K ALMOST UNLOCKED TOO \o/
This is incredible, absolutely mind-blowing, we are going into the final 36hrs having pretty much unlocked every single Stretch Goal planned!!
We are about $500 from unlocking every Phase 2 Stretch Goal and with enough time on the clock yet we might as well gun for a couple more unlocks, what do you all say?!

Come on, guys, this one is soooooooooo close. We are only FOUR, that's right, 4 Instagram followers from unlocking this Mini-Print to be added to every pledge towards a physical package sent in the mail!

THE $52 STRETCH GOAL
As I write this we are currently less than $500 from unlocking one extra collectible card making it a total of five trading cards added to EVERY SINGLE PLEDGE TOWARDS A PHYSICAL REWARD TO BE SENT IN THE MAIL!!!
That's pretty overwhelming...
I love trading cards and you are all giving me the opportunity to do a whole set for The Few and Cursed. I don't think I will ever be able to fully express my gratitude towards all of you...
EXTRA STRETCH GOAL #1 - $55K
It's no secret by now that the Season Finale will be action packed. We will get to see a whole new side of Red and her final confrontation with the Crows of Mana'Olana.
Ever since I started writing the book I've been toying with the idea of making an extended version but extra story pages are tricky and expensive. Considering how far we've come I think we can all pull this off.
If we hit $55K then I will add a whopping 16 extra pages to the book regardless whether you are pledging for the digital version or in print. This is a win for everyone because we made it this far counting on every single pledge!
EXTRA STRETCH GOAL #2 - $60K
I heard you. Mike heard you. And we want to do something special for every board gamer out there that gave the comic book a chance.
I've had more than a couple of backers suggest in the comments we should add a Stretch Goal aimed towards the game as a way not just to promo it but also add value to their experience.
That was a great idea!
But seeing how not every reader and TFAC fan enjoys board games I thought we should do something for them too.
My idea is to produce a COLLECTIBLE AND PLAYABLE CARD that can be used in the game as well with brand new and exclusively commissioned artwork!
The card will be dual-sided and will allow players in the game to play as a Variant Redhead with different stats and abilities. Not a board gamer? Not a problem, this will look great along the other cards as well \o/
Last week I told the backers of the Board Game that they were our SECRET WEAPON in unlocking as much content as possible and they did not disappoint.
The same can be said about you all.
You've seen how much extra stuff we can unlock yet and while finding new backers will definitely push us through the last few hours you all have the power to upgrade your tiers and really take us all the way :D
Going over our project stats I noticed that about 25% of our backers, a whopping 426 people, have pledged for a digital tier only which is awesome and much appreciated!
But let me point out that for some of you upgrading your pledge by a few dollars only will get you a boat load of extras that more than make up for it and will help us unlock extra pages and more. That is definitely a win-win for everyone!
I know shipping is always a hefty cost but there won't be any extra shipping fees once the Kickstarter is over regardless of how much extra content we put into your packages so really why not just take the plunge and upgrade, right?
Temporary artwork only but being able to play with a Red variant should add a lot of replayability to the game! Plus we will make sure the art is gorgeous for those collecting the card only =)
I really cannot thank you all enough for pledging and believing in this independent comic book series. I truly appreciate and couldn't be more excited for what's next!
